Twenty-four students were nominated by their peers to participate in this year’s Pickle Classic Court. The winners were selected through an interview process with the Mount Olive Jaycees.
Galeno joins the ranks of 35 Pickle Classic Queens that have come before her. A senior visual communications major, she is an Honors student and is active in many campus clubs and organizations. She currently serves as both marketing director of the Campus Activity Board (CAB) and treasurer of the Student Government Association Executive Cabinet. She has also served as a freshmen mentor. Galeno is the daughter of Catalina Galeno and Noe Verdin. She attends the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Wallace.
The Pickle Classic King competition was introduced in 1997 when SGA petitioned for an equal male counterpart to the Pickle Queen.
Ratley, a senior agriculture business major, is the son of Anthony and Bonnie Ratley. He is an Honors student and serves as the vice president of the Student Government Association.
Pickle Classic King and Queen will represent Mount Olive College at the NC Pickle Festival and the Mount Olive Christmas Parade, among other functions.
