Song of the Week

"Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles
By Kelli Kosuda, Lifestyle
So, for those of you who remember, last week was the first step in our journey through the alphabet. And this week, we continue with our trip with letter B. Plenty of famous artists have begun with the letter ‘B’: Beethoven, Bach, Backstreet Boys, Bono, Ben Harper, Billy Joel, etc., and this week is no exception. I think you’ll be quite familiar with the song and the artists.

At the very beginning of the 1960’s, a new kind of pop culture was making its way into the world. This included a new fad of music and a counter-culture lifestyle that was and still is a revolutionary time in the history of social culture. It was aided by a band of four kids with a knack for rock and roll, otherwise known as the The Beatles. In 1969, toward the end of their successful career, band member George Harrison penned “Here Comes The Sun”, your song of the week.

Here comes the sun/ here comes the sun/ and I say, it’s alright

Last week’s weather was dreary at best here in Mount Olive, and this week we’ve finally been able to catch a glimpse of Mr. Sun. I hope this familiar and beloved song brightens your week. Happy Listening!
