What's Really Good

Adults....Really?
By Samone Bland, Opinion
Okay, so I know that there are only four weeks left in the semester and this is nothing relatively new. But after an incident I had last week, I am officially making a complaint and calling for a change for next year. As many of you have observed the school's dining hall has made a couple of changes this year. Although, we never saw the implementation of the "trayless" rule we did witness a time warp that took us back to the days of junior high. Since the beginning of this school year, the workers in the café have been serving us our food. Citing the wasting of food as the reason, they have decided to ration out our food as they see fit. That's right, the 6'3", 180lb male gets the same amount of food as the 5'5", 115lb female. Now, you can return for more food but that is far behind the point of the bigger picture.

College is supposed to be an introduction to the world of adulthood. So why are they treating us as if we are still in high school? Plus, their reason of serving us would have more validity if it were not for the fact that we, the students, are paying for our food. Meal plans are included in tuition and if you live on campus you are required to purchase a plan.

So, MOC I ask you, what's really good? Are you preparing us to be adults and make our own decisions at all times or only when the situation suits you?
