Ways to Get Involved Around Town

April 1 - Public Workship for Wayne County Transit Plan
Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. there will be a public workshop to discuss public transit service options for the Goldsboro/Wayne County Transit Plan. Please drop-in at any point--there will be interactive booths with English and Spanish speaking staff on hand to listen to your comments and a brief presentation detailing the project every half-hour starting at 4:00 p.m. The workshop will be held in the Goldsboro City Hall Annex Building (on 2nd Floor in Large Meeting Room) at 200 N. Center St. Come out to voice your opinions.

April 2 - RLS Scholarship Golf Tournament
The 2009 Recreation & Leisure Studies (RLS) Scholarship Golf Tournament will take place on April 2 at Southern Wayne Country Club. Rain date will be April 9. Planned and organized by students enrolled in the Mount Olive College recreation program planning class, the event will be a 2-man super ball tournament. Preregistration cost is $45 per person or $80 per team, and includes 18 holes, golf cart, nonalcoholic beverages, lunch at the turn and prizes. Pre-register is requested by March 23. Check-in and registration will begin at 8:00 AM with a 10:00 AM shotgun start. All proceeds from the event will be used for student scholarships at MOC. The First Baptist Church of Mount Olive invites Mount Olive College students, faculty and staff to join them for worship each Sunday at 10:45 a.m. They are located at 300 North Chestnut Street (the corner of John and Chestnut Streets). May 2 - Operation-In-As-Much
Mark your calendar! Plan now to participate in “Operation-In-As-Much," a half-day local missions blitz on Saturday, May 2, 2009. Volunteers needed. Sponsored by the First Baptist Church, Mount Olive, NC. More information to come.
